1. What we collect

Chat Vault is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your chat conversations are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (Chrome's chrome.storage.local) and never transmitted to our servers.

When you create an account or upgrade to Pro, we collect only:

• Your email address — used for authentication and billing communications
• Payment information — processed by LiqPay; we never see or store your card details
• Subscription status — plan type and renewal date

2. Your chat data

All chat backups (messages, titles, metadata) are stored only on your device. We have no access to your conversations. If you uninstall the extension, your local data is removed. We cannot recover it.

3. Analytics

We do not use third-party analytics tools (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel). We may collect minimal, anonymous usage metrics — such as the total number of active users — to improve the product. These metrics contain no personal information and cannot be linked back to you.

4. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in on the account management page. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

5. Third-party services

We use LiqPay for payment processing. When you make a purchase, you are subject to LiqPay's privacy policy. We receive only a payment confirmation and your email address — no card numbers or banking details.

We use Google Fonts (Outfit, DM Mono) on our website, which may set cookies per Google's privacy policy.

6. Data retention

Your account data (email, subscription status) is retained as long as you have an active account. You may request deletion at any time by emailing us at [email protected]. Deletion is completed within 14 days.

7. Children's privacy

Chat Vault is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We will notify Pro subscribers by email of any material changes. Continued use of Chat Vault after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

By installing Chat Vault or creating an account, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the extension and do not use the service.

2. The service

Chat Vault is a Chrome browser extension that captures and stores AI chat conversations locally on your device. Pro features (auto-backup, PDF export, unlimited storage) require a paid subscription or one-time lifetime purchase.

3. Account & eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create a paid account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login link and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access.

4. Subscriptions & billing

Monthly / Yearly plans are billed automatically at the start of each billing period via LiqPay. You may cancel at any time from your account page — access continues until the end of the current period, after which your plan reverts to Free.

Lifetime plan is a one-time payment granting perpetual access to all Pro features, including future platform additions. No recurring charges.

Refunds — if you are unsatisfied, contact us within 7 days of purchase for a full refund, no questions asked.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer or decompile Chat Vault for commercial purposes
• Use Chat Vault to collect or distribute other users' conversations without their consent
• Circumvent any license checks or payment systems
• Resell or sublicense access to Chat Vault

6. Intellectual property

Chat Vault and all associated branding, design, and code are owned by the developer. The extension does not claim any ownership over the AI conversations you back up — those belong to you and the respective AI platforms per their own terms.

7. Third-party platforms

Chat Vault operates alongside third-party AI services (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini). We are not affiliated with or endorsed by these services. Changes to their websites may occasionally affect Chat Vault functionality — we will update the extension as quickly as possible in such cases.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Chat Vault is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the extension will always function correctly, particularly after third-party platform updates. We are not liable for any loss of data — always maintain your own backups of critical information.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of Chat Vault shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify Pro subscribers by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Your continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
